Dear Parents:

Welcome to Immaculate Conception School!   We appreciate your interest in our school, and we would like to give you a sense of our community here in Grand Prairie.  Because this is a Catholic School we consider that our most vital role is to help your children to become active members with strong moral character (as new disciples of Christ) of our parish and the universal church.  For this reason we are dedicated to the spiritual formation of our students as our first priority.  Our daily prayer life, weekly Mass, sacramental preparation, and the Christian atmosphere which permeates the classroom make Immaculate Conception School truly a parochial school.  We have a family atmosphere, with teachers, parents and children sharing similar values and beliefs.

Academic excellence is also very important here at ICS.  We have one of the most dedicated and long term faculty and staff, including Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth who have taught at this school continuously for almost five decades.  It's no secret that Catholic school teachers receive considerably lower salaries than those in public schools, and our teachers are no exception.  They consider their work a vocation, and they make tremendous sacrifices for our children.

This continued dedication of our faculty has provided our students with a solid, well-rounded education.  ICS graduates have an acceptance rate of over 90% to Catholic high schools in the metroplex, as well as being routinely placed in honors classes at GPISD high schools.  Over the past years, a number of our students have participated in the summer DECATS program, received art awards at the diocesan level, and received scholarships to several Catholic high schools.  We have served our students well, and we are continually striving for new resources such as the computers, textbooks, encyclopedias, science and playground equipment we acquired in recent years.

The Finance Council has strived to maintain a reasonable tuition in past years to allow all parents who desire a truly Catholic education for their children to afford to send them here.  We must be fiscally responsible and yet maintain our parents' ability to afford ICS tuition.

In closing, we want you to know how important each and every family is to our community.  We invite you to participate in a variety of ways here at Immaculate Conception.  Some examples of fulfilling the 30 volunteer hours required are helping as a homeroom parent, working on a fundraiser, or serving on the Advisory Council.  We welcome your input and support, and we appreciate your willingness to be involved.

God bless you and thank you for your interest in Immaculate Conception School.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
